Satyam scam case: Accused remand extended, provided with documents
12/24/2009

A city court extended till January 6 the judicial remand of the ten accused in the multi-crore Satyam scam case and provided documents relating to supplementary chargesheet filed by the CBI to them.

On expiry of the remand, all the accused, except Satyam founder B Ramalinga Raju, were produced before the XIV Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who extended their judicial remand by 14 days.

The Magistrate also handed over photocopies of the documents relating to the supplementary charges filed by the CBI to facilitate framing of charges.

Ramalinga Raju is presently undergoing treatment for a liver ailment at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences here.

On December 9, the defence counsels raised objections over the copies of the documents provided to them and prayed for verification of the same by the Magistrate with the original chargesheet.
