Govt viewing Rana's visit seriously: Kerala CM
11/19/2009

Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan said his government was viewing very seriously the visit to Kochi of terror Suspect Tahawwur Hussain Rana, arrested by the FBI along with suspected LeT operative David Headley in the US.

Talking to newspersons here, he said the State Government would act according to the Centre direction in this matter.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is already probing the visit of Rana and his woman companion.

The duo visited this city from November 16 to 17, 2008, posing as a migration consultant.

The NIA and the State Intelligence Wings are trying to retrace the steps of Rana during his visit to the city.

The police is also taking the help of the Cyber Cell to get information from the cell number Rana used while visiting the city.

Rana and David Coleman Headley were held by the FBI a month back on charges of plotting attacks in India and Denmark.

Investigations had pointed finger to the fact that Headley had stayed at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai and Rana had also visited the metropolis before the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
