Yeddyurappa moves HC questioning CBI Court denying bail
6/13/2012
13.6.2012 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today moved High Court questioning CBI Court verdict denying anticipatory bail in connection with alleged kickback in illegal iron ore mining case filed against him.
Within hours of receiving CBI court order, Mr Yeddyurappa, the main accused, his sons B Y Ragavendra, MP and B Y Vijendra and his son in law Sohan Kumar (second, third and fourth accused) filed petition in the High Court through their lawyers questioning the denial.
Earlier in the day, the Special CBI Court Judge D R Venkat Sudarshan, after hearing objections by CBI and counter objection to the bail, rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by all the above accused.
The main argument by CBI counsel Ashok Bhan was Mr Yeddyurappa being a influential leader may indulge in influencing witness and it may hamper the investigation. UNI
