Genpact to buy EmPower Research
15.9.2011 (UNI) Genpact Ltd, a business process outsourcing firm, today announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire EmPower Research, an integrated media and business research company.
'This acquisition will add significant expertise and intellectual property to Genpact's Smart Decision Services business, comprising analytics, research, reengineering and risk management services,' it said in a statement.
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
With the explosion of activity in social media, increasingly companies feel the need to track social media conversations to understand consumer preferences and perceptions towards their products and services, the company said.
EmPower Research provides a comprehensive range of services including social and traditional media monitoring and measurement, event impact research, brand tracking, and data management.
EmPower Research has approximately 360 employees based in New York, Bangalore, Cincinnati, New Jersey, San Francisco, and London. UNI
