Paid news controversy: SC permits Election Commission with investigation against Ashok Chavan

2.5.2012 (UNI) The Supreme Court today permitted the Election Commission to go ahead with investigation against former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in the paid news controversy.
There were allegations against Mr Chavan for his involvement in planting paid news.
Mr Chavan has, however, been denying the allegations as baseless.
The apex court permitted the investigating agency to go ahead with the investigation and complete it expeditiously. UNI
