Law Minister hints at action on dental council
6/14/2010

After the Medical Council of India, Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily hinted at the possibility of the Centre cracking down on the Dental Council of India and the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

‘MCI has been superseded. We have appointed a committee (in its place)’, Mr Moily told reporters.

He pointed out that cases had been filed against the Chairman of AICTE.

‘Whether it’s MCI, DCI and AICTE, we will enact a legislation at the Central level to see that they function impartially, free of corruption and cheating’, Mr Moily said.

Earlier, he unveiled the bust of Late D A Pandu and delivered the endowment lecture at the D A Pandu Memorial R V Dental College.
