Hearing in Sankararaman murder case posted to July 4

28.6.2012 (UNI) Puducherry Principal District and Sessions Judge C S Murugan today posted the Sankararaman murder case, in which Kanchi Acharyas Jayendra Saraswathi and Vijayendra Saraswathi are prime accused, to July 4 for further hearing.

Fifteen of the 24 accused, including the acharyas, failed to turn up when the case was taken up today.

The proceedings in the case could not be taken up today as a petition filed by Mr Manikandavaradhan, counsel for Padma, wife of slain Sankararaman praying to shift the case to the Madras High Court from Puducherry was pending before the High Court. UNI
